PetSnowy Snow+ Review | Unboxing, Setup & First Impressions

When you live with cats, the litter box is just a part of life. But let’s be honest, scooping is no one’s favorite chore. We recently got the PetSnowy Snow+ automatic litter box, filmed an unboxing and setup video, and have been testing it out with our crew. Here’s what stood out, the good, the quirky, and the “why didn’t they think of this sooner” moments.

Unboxing the PetSnowy Snow+ Automatic Litter Box

The Snow+ arrived in a pretty large box (it has to be, considering what it’s built to handle). Inside, everything was neatly packaged, the main unit, the power cord, waste draw with liners, an instruction booklet, and a large, simple to follow guide. The litter box itself has a clean, modern design that doesn’t scream “litter box”. It’s not small, but it looks more like a piece of smart home gear than something you’d hide in the laundry room.

Setup: Easier Than Expected

At first glance, the Snow+ might look intimidating, it’s bigger than most standard boxes and has moving parts. But setup was straightforward: plug it in, add clumping litter, insert the “fragrance box”, and it’s ready to go. The controls are simple enough that you don’t need to use a manual every time you want to change a setting.

One thing that I noticed right away, it’s super quiet! When it cycles, it doesn’t send the cats running for cover. That’s a big deal if you are someone with skittish pets.

The Big Surprise: Weight Capacity Range

Here’s what really impressed me, the PetSnowy Snow+ can handle cats from 3lbs to 20. That’s not a typo. For households with larger breeds like Maine Coons, Ragdolls, or just a hefty house panther, this is huge. A lot of automatic litter boxes are not suitable for smaller weights.

Fragrance Boxes & Ti02 Odor Control

This is where the PetSnowy team really thought ahead. The Snow+ uses a TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) filter system to help neutralize odors, instead of just masking them. That’s paired with small fragrance boxes you can insert to keep things smelling fresh. Instead of a constant “litter box smell”, it will help to stay more neutral.

What We Liked about the PetSnowy Snow+

  • Quiet Cleaning Cycle, No loud motors or rattling. It’s honestly the quietest automatic litter box I’ve owned. It will not easily spook your cats.
  • Weight Capacity,ย from 3lbs to 20, the PetSnowy Snow+ is built to handle even the smaller floofs.
  • TiO2 Odor Control, Less smell hanging in the air. Paired with the fragrance boxes, it’s a nice touch with fresh scents. The sealed waste drawer is awesome also. This is the first automatic box I’ve owned that actually has a waste drawer that seals itself.
  • App Tracking, Handy for monitoring cycles and knowing when to empty the drawer.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • It’s not tiny. Plan space for it.
  • You’ll still need to empty the waste drawer (just less often than traditional scooping).
  • Cats may take a few days to adjust, which is expected with change.

First Impression & Final Thoughts

We’re a few days into owning the PetSnowy Snow+ and our first impression is that it’s a genuine upgrade from a regular litter box. The quiet cleaning cycle, weight range, odor control system with TiO2 filters and fragrance boxes make a noticeable difference in day-to-day life. Not to mention, it’s super easy to take apart and clean.

It still needs basic upkeep like emptying the waste drawer, but the Snow+ removes the daily scooping chore and keeps the room smelling cleaner.

Final thought? The PetSnowy Snow+ feels less like a gadget and more like a practical piece of pet care equipment. For anyone juggling multiple cats, it’s worth considering.
