Texas Feline Fanatics, 21 Paw Salute

TICA Cat Show in Texas, November 2024

In November of 2024 we were able to attend another TICA cat show, hosted by the Texas Feline Fanatics in Abilene, TX. This was our first show to attend with the Texas Feline Fanatics club. The Maine Coon kitten class and the Maine Coon adult (Championship) class were both fairly large at this show.

We attended this show with Dynamite, Biggie, Missy, and a new friend. This was Dynamite’s first show in the Championship class and his fourth TICA show in total. The third show for Biggie & Missy, and our new friend’s first show. We attended both days which was 12 rings in total.

All in all we had a great time in Abilene! Dynamite was one of the youngest cats in the Maine Coon class and he still did very well! We went with hopes for him to receive one final and just have a good experience. Dynamite ended the weekend with six finals! This means that he not only earned his first official TICA title as Champion but, Grand Champion. Dynamite received 1oth best all-breed cat, 6th best all-breed cat, and 4th best all-breed cat out of 36 cats in total on Saturday. On Sunday he received 8th best all-breed cat, 4th best all-breed cat, and 5th best all-breed cat out of 35 cats in total. Dynamite also placed in 9 of the 12th rings for breed with many other older cats. We are just thrilled with how he did and this is only the beginning!

I know you want to hear how Biggie & Missy did! Biggie received 2nd best all-breed kitten on Saturday out of 35 kittens in total. On Sunday he received 4th best all-breed kitten out of 35 kittens and 6th best longhair kitten out of 21 longhair kittens. Missy received a final on Sunday, 6th best all-breed kitten out of 35 kittens in total. We are very happy with how each of them did! They all had fun running around the hotel room and scratching their nails on each post in every ring.
